Break Out West 2016 and other Ponderings

It has been a busy fall. I had a great birthday month of October. I was able to attend a full week of Break Out West here in Regina, SK. I met many new people, reconnected with others and got some great advice from some industry people. I was also able to go to some great Showcases of some of my favorite Saskatchewan musicians. I took in shows that included Jeffrey Straker, Megan Nash, Blake Berglund and Poor Nameless Boy to name a few. Following this stellar adventure I headed out to Montreal to hang with my eldest boy for a few days.
I have also been inspired this fall to join an online female music group headed by Bree Noble called Female Music Academy which has helped me to refocus my goals for my music career. As well, I have met some great female musicians.
In October, I spent a day planning out 2017. It is full of great happenings. I have hopes of recording my second CD in June and releasing it with my memoir. The planned release date is October 2017.
Plans continue with the group of Saskatoon singer songwriters called Girls Like Us, we plan to perform in Saskatoon in April 2017. I am learning so much from these women and enjoy their company a great deal.
As we head into the Christmas season I hope you are surrounded by music and people you love.
