For the last three months or so I have been making decisions about how to present my music, both songs from my CD and others. I was lucky enough to attend a workshop by Tom Jackson who gave information about how to do a live show with the most impact. The weekend was very informative and inspiring. This weekend inspired me to learn the accompaniments to my songs so that I could do my show myself. I hope at some point to find a guitar guy to join some of my shows.
I had a small house concert in February in Regina to practice some of my new found information and discovered that much of what I incorporated worked well to connect me to my audience. I then had the pleasure of playing a small house concert in Montreal where I connected with some old friends and made some new ones. The songs were well received at both these events.
Now I am looking forward to putting on a full show the end of April in Swift Current, Shaunavon, and Regina. I have tentative plans to do a show in Vancouver in June.
