I am back from my mini-tour and trip to Montreal. There has been a couple days of rest, some much needed rest. There was so much to do up to the CD release day of October 13, which was also my 58th Birthday! When the day arrived I wondered if I had taken on too much but it all went well!
The day started off with a bang. They played my song Where Are You Going? From the Shifting Sands album on the CBC Regina,SK. Morning Edition. I sat and cried while I listened! How cool was that and a dream of mine. Then I found out SaskMusic had featured the Title Track Shifting Sands on their website as well as including my Press Release. Again so cool and so appreciated!
The CDs arrived the day before the CD release thankfully and other merch I had ordered arrived that morning. My revamped website went live October 13th as well! Oh man, no wonder I felt over stimulated!
Songwriting friends from Saskatoon arrived to set up at 6pm. Rhonda Gallant-Morari and Patricia Cameron and her sister Wendy Crawford! They added so much to the show as well as taking some of the stress from my shoulders ! The host Cat Burns, was enthusiastic as she introduced the show.
Performing my songs for the lovely group at Creative City Center felt like a dream come true. The songs were well received and I was grounded and present while I sang and played! Bliss! My darling Robyn had bought flowers for the stage, a permanent Shifting Sands arrangement as well as a great cake and a Godspeed bracelet to keep me safe on my trip.
I will talk about my short tour next time and the follow up to releasing my sophomore album!
