Christmas is nearly here. I decided this year I would play a few shows during December as part of my music biz plan. People like music at Christmas and I had a Christmas single to play so it seemed like a sound decision. I have enjoyed playing although I have only just gotten into the spirit of the season. I received a couple Christmas cards a couple days ago and that helped. It is interesting to sing Christmas tunes and not actually be in the Christmas spirit. It was fun to have people sing along. It was also a stretch for me to play songs on the piano that I don’t know well. I guess it will all help for next year! I still have one more show to play this week and I am looking forward to sharing the stage with a couple of my songwriter friends.
FYI-If you want to listen to the single Oh Christmas Time it is spotify:album:1GKCb31KCfqnN0WrigeOEx.
This is also the time of year for planning next year. As I have likely mentioned before I will be retiring from my nursing work July 1, 2019. It feels a bit intimidating to anticipate so much freedom and invigorating at the same time.
This past week, I planned out my music goals for the first 90 days of 2019, with my business coach and some female musicians whom I hang out with on-line. I am so pumped for what I will be working towards. I am happy with all the things that I have chosen to put my energy towards. My music values have changed a bit over the past two years, contribution and leadership have shown up along with authenticity, creativity and compassion. These are the values that I want to show up in my music business. My mission is to help open hearts and encourage people with the knowledge that transformation is possible. Personal transformation must come first and then we will have more to offer our communities, whatever those communities look like.
May you be aware of what you wish to pursue next year.
May you be aware of your dreams.
In music and creativity,
Wanda G.
